THE STORY BEHIND THE BALL
The ball takes its name from Saint Sava, Serbia’s first archbishop and a lasting symbol of learning, faith, and cultural life. Celebrations in his honour connect education and community with music and dance.
From Serbian school celebrations to Vienna’s ballrooms, this wider tradition has taken different forms. Its story is one of cultural exchange: preserving a sense of home while making new connections, across generations and borders.
